Oaxis Bento Close Contact Induction Speaker Review

Oaxis Bento Close Contact Induction Speaker Review

Bluetooth speakers are convenient for boosting sound and audio from your mobile device, but they can sometimes be a pain to connect. On top of that, the connection can be a bit unreliable depending on your environment or even your actual mobile device. The Oaxis Bento Close Contact Induction Speaker is one that doesn’t have these issues since it doesn’t require any cables or connections. It works with any phone or audio source as long as it has a built-in speaker.

What’s so unique about this speaker is the fact that it uses near field induction audio technology to deliver 360° omnidirectional audio and dynamic bass. There’s absolutely no actual connection needed; you simply sit your phone on top of it, and it starts working immediately – almost like magic.

With this speaker, you don’t have to worry about fiddling with Bluetooth, WiFi, Infrared, NFC, or connecting an audio cable. It’s just that simple!

Using the Oaxis Bento Speaker

There are only three steps required to using the Oaxis Bento Speaker:

  1. Turn on the speaker using the power button on the side (next to the micro-USB port and audio jack).
  2. Open the desired app on your mobile device (e.g. music player, YouTube), and start playing something or start a phone call.
  3. Place your mobile device flat on top of the speaker, making sure to line up the speaker on your device with the line on top of the Oaxis Bento speaker. This helps to get the perfect sound.

You will be able to hear sound through the speaker as soon as you place it on top. The further your device’s speaker is away from that line on top, the lower and more muffled the sound will be, so it’s important to have it right on top of the line. You may have to move it around in small increments to get it perfect.

As you can see, the oval design and the way the speaker amplifies sound makes it perfect for conferences calls and similar functions.

It also has a built-in 1000mAh lithium battery which can last up to six hours on one full charge (via the included micro-USB cable). You also get an audio cable in the box in case you want to use the speaker with other types of devices like a computer.

One thing you have to remember is that the speaker does not have an auto shutoff feature, so it will not turn off on its own no matter how long it has been on. Although inconvenient for some, the company has stated that it’s “specially designed this way to serve its purpose of fuss-free and instant connection.

Final Thoughts

While it does sound great and will suffice for an average speaker, the Oaxis Bento Close Contact Induction Speaker definitely doesn’t have the same sound as top quality Bluetooth speakers. However, it’s sure to come in handy for office environments and conference rooms. It can also be great for those who don’t want to be bothered with cables (besides charging) or Bluetooth connectivity.

This speaker is obviously much faster and easier to use than a Bluetooth speaker since it connects almost instantly and doesn’t require any tedious or complicated setup. It would also be great for those who aren’t very tech-savvy and older people who may not “get” Bluetooth (e.g. parents, grandparents).

Is this better than a Bluetooth speaker? Well, it all depends on your personal needs and preferences. Do you think you would prefer an induction speaker like this over a Bluetooth speaker?
